This week-long Youth Leadership Training is designed for graduating seniors who want to step into the next season of life with a deep, resilient faith and the skills to lead others well. The goal is simple and ambitious: to prepare students to live effective, faithful lives after graduation and to thrive in campus and young-professional (YoPro) ministry environments.
The program is intentionally designed as a hybrid experience—part campus ministry retreat, part teen camp, and part hands-on workshop. Students can expect meaningful teaching and practical training alongside plenty of classic camp fun. The week balances focused learning, spiritual depth, community building, and high-energy activities that make the experience both formative and memorable.
Throughout the week, students will receive hands-on training in both spiritual formation and practical leadership. Training will focus on helping students grow personally in faith while equipping them to lead and serve others with confidence.
Topics covered include:
-
Developing a deeper faith through spiritual practices
-
Sharing faith naturally and confidently with friends
-
Inviting others into Christian community
-
Studying the Bible one-on-one and in group settings
-
Leading and facilitating a small group
-
Organizing, planning, and executing ministry events
-
Serving in worship, service, and ministry teams
-
Sharing a clear and compelling personal testimony
-
Building and sustaining discipleship relationships
-
Managing schedule, time, and priorities after graduation
-
Managing money and resources with wisdom and purpose
In addition to ministry training, students will be challenged to think intentionally about how their daily habits, relationships, and decisions shape long-term faithfulness.
The camp is led by Chris and Amy Schwarzenberger, alongside current Ministry In Training (MIT) interns from the Northwest, with the support of experienced campus ministers and ministry staff. Students will be mentored by leaders who are actively living out the kind of faith and leadership they are being trained to pursue.
This camp is not just about gaining information—it’s about formation, vision, and launch, equipping students to enter the next chapter of life ready to lead, serve, and follow Jesus with confidence.
